Here’s what I’m doing:

Saturday 24th January 2015

Hello Readers.

Today I’m making final preparations for my stall at the first Llanyrafon Manor Food & Craft Market of 2015 – tomorrow 11 am to 3 pm.  New for this market (from me) will be bird houses, cuddly pretty cardigans for little ones, messages in bottles, St Valnetine/St Dwynwen cards.

Sunday 11th January 2015

Happy New Year Everyone – Many apologies for the very long time I’ve not been on here blogging – I have been super busy with crafting and selling at lots of shows + I visited the craft show at the NEC too – wow I spent way too much money!

Anyway – my Wednesday morning & Thursday evening crafting clubs are running along nicely – I’ve met such a variety of friendly people it is heart warming.  Now I’m launching into another venture: I’m starting a new crafting club in Griffithstown Community Hall on Feb 11th.  It will be from 1:30 to 3:30 pm each 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month.  You can learn to crochet or just bring along your favourite craft and have a cuppa with me.  Interested?

Tuesday 30th September

My batteries have been well and truly recharged by my wonderful holiday!  I am now ready for action again at my craft club.  I’ll be there bright & early tomorrow morning.  The kettle will be on and I’ll be welcoming crafters old & new from 10 am to 12 noon.  Broomstick lace, embellished buttons & mini owls were my pet crochet projects while I was away.  I’ll show everyone at club first then post pics on here.

While away I visited the Aran Isle of Inisheer, met and was welcomed into the home of Mairead Sharry (spinner, weaver, felter, knitter etc) – it was a truly delightful afternoon of tea, buns, craft chatter and a plum pudding needle felted for me as a gift!

Thursday September 18th

I am off on holiday to Ireland tomorrow.  This means my Ennirocraft Crafting Club will be having a break for a week.  However, I shall be taking some crochet with me to do on the ferry journey and in any spare moments I can find.  My latest idea is fancy button flowers – I’ll post a photo when I’ve completed some.

Wednesday 7th May 2014

I have recently learned how to use a knitting loom (thank you Angharad Jones) and I’ve completed my first hat, destined for a small person in Romania, come shoe-box appeal time later this year. I love learning new crafts, and putting them into action.

Teddies for adoption update:

All of the teddies and their friends who were at the Llanyrafon Manor Country Fayre on 13th April found new families I’m very pleased to say.  A new batch of foundlings have been bathed and are awaiting their turns for accompanying me to a craft fayre to have the chance of adoption.

Friday 11th April 2014

Teddy Bears (and soft cuddly friends) for adoption – the story:

A recently abandoned teddy bear was rescued and treated to a bubble bath and gentle scrub by Big Ted William.

After his bath he was carefully brushed.

Big Ted William chose a smart red ribbon to tie around his neck.

He was given a new name, Charlie Bear. Now he would really like a lovely Welsh cwtch.

Charlie Bear is waiting for a new family now. could you adopt him? He will be traveling around with the Ennirocraft stall looking out for a new home.

Charlie Bear has lots of friends also waiting to be adopted: bears, rabbits, puppy dogs. Each one has an interesting personality. could one of them suit you?

Tuesday 8th April 2014

I’m getting organised ready for Sunday’s extravaganza: Llanyrafon Manor Country Fayre.  I’ll be selling and demonstrating upcycled crafts there.  It looks like being a fantastic day out, even the weather is set fair.

Many apologies for the break in service.  You know what they say..if you want a job done, ask a busy person.  I am that very person currently.

Anyway, I have some really busy but fun weekends coming up:

Tonight I am at the murder mystery evening for Torfaen Friends of the Earth.  It is going to be a fantastic evening.  There may be a few tickets left if you want to go – contact Pages Restaurant Cwmbran.

Tomorrow I shall be at the Vintage & Crafts Fayre at Pontypool Museum, with crafts & vintage items (1940’s suitcases, china tableware, crochet & embroidered house-linens and more).vintage fayre ponty museum

Monday 17th March 2014

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone – I am wearing green all day today (coincidence actually).

My latest projects include cutting up old tee shirts & rolling the resulting strips into a ball to either crochet or weave.  Photos will be uploaded soon.

Here is the prototype of a wedding invitation created partly from old book pages:

Here’s a photo of some of my stall at Cwmbran Craft Fayre last Sunday.  You can see crochet headbands and a tiny owl hat as well as the little birds with their bird houses.  Also in the pic are bottles containing message scrolls (blank & ready for your personalisation).  Naturally there are my famous videotape bags too:

Today my craft-room declutter is back on with a vengeance – it is taking a while but I’m one determined crafter.

Friday 28th February 2014

I’m gearing up for Sunday’s Cwmbran Craft Fayre – 1pm to 4pm in the hall of Our Lady of the Angels, Old Cwmbran.  My reasonably priced upcycled creations will be there for you, suitable for Mothers Day gifts (or a treat for yourself).

Saturday 22nd February 2014

I’ve just watched an amazing video about crafting with discarded plastic.  Take a look:

I have everything ready now for Llanyrafon Manor Food & Craft Market tomorrow 10 – 2:

  • little bird hanging decorations
  • wishes in dishes
  • messages in bottles
  • book page cufflinks & rings
  • crochet ear warmers, hairbands & wire recycled bead necklaces
  • and of course, rescued teddies for adoption complete with adoption certificates

Tuesday 18th February 2014

I have been creating little bird hanging decorations complete with little birdhouses.  Using scraps of yarn, upcycled buttons and old discarded book pages, here is one example of what I’ve made:

Sadly the Monday evening crochet class @ Sarah-Joe’S Craft Emporium is currently suspended until further notice.

Saturday 4th January 2014

Looking forward to the restart of crochet class & club on Monday, 6pm to 8pm @ Sarah-Joe’S Craft Emporium .  Beginners & improvers are welcome.  It is £3.50 per session if you bring your own hook & materials or £5 per session inclusive of all materials. Everyone gets a cuppa & cake of course.

Friday 13th Dec 2013 – It’s the last Llanyrafon Manor Food & Craft Market of 2013 this Sunday

With over 30 stands this time it has got to be well worth a visit.  Naturally I’ll be there with my recycled crafts & teddies for adoption – there are some real cuties and of course each one has its own adoption certificate.

Tuesday 10th Dec 2013 – I started teaching crochet @ Sarah Joe’S Craft Emporium  in Windsor Road Griffithstown (next to the Post Office) last evening.  More spaces are available, just turn up at 6pm on a Monday evening, or contact Tina via email

Thursday 5th Dec 2013 – By special request I shall be making crochet wire recycled bead glass charms.  I think I’ll try mobile phone charms too.  Watch this space!

Wednesday 4th Dec 2013 – Created my very first crochet wire necklace last night, with recycled beads naturally.  I’m pleased with the end result so will be doing more.

Tuesday Dec 3rd 2013 – Just returned from Sarah Joe’S Craft Emporium in Windsor Road Griffithstown – newly open and attracting lots of interest.  I’ve rented a shelf to sell some of my recycled craft creations: two little bags, one made from strips of plastic carrier bag and one from video-tape, Mr Men book bunting, fluffy bangles, a neck warmer and some hairbands made using video tape or audio cassette tape. Here are pics of a couple of the things for sale – very reasonable prices (nothing over £5 currently), after all everything I create has something recycled in it.

Thursday No 28th 2013 – Revising my new web site.  I hope you like it.  I’ll be adding more items to my store soon.

  1. Hi Corrine, so glad the orphaned bears have found homes. Is the loom like the french knitting I used to do as a child using a cotton reel with 4 nails in the top? Only on a bigger scale of course/.

    • Yes Sheila you are absolutely correct. I had one of those as a child too. By the way, please forgive my incredible lateness in replying to your comment. I expect we have seen each other several times since May 7th when you asked me the question!!
